Christmas this year was hard. I couldn’t stop thinking about my dad. He was alive this time last year… Hmm…
His passing is becoming a reality and I have accepted my fate. I’ve avoided saying “Merry Christmas” because it hurts in ways that I can’t explain, and it reopens old wounds.
So, if you tried to reach me on the 25th of December, I apologise for not responding as expected. I wasn’t comfortable using any phrase that starts with “Merry”.
Today, I’m starting afresh and I’m wrapping up the memories of my parents in a special part of my heart, and I celebrate them in a new way – with gratitude.
I’m thankful that I have a grandma, grandpa, and I’m grateful for my uncles, aunties, cousins, siblings, and friends.
I hope you’re having a good time with your family these holidays.
Happy Holidays
Thanks for stopping by.

😭😭 Beautifully written. It must have been very difficult for you, but it’s okay to let it all wash all over you because the beautiful memories are part of what builds who you are. Also, knowing that you are just as strongly loved by family and friends, will give you the strength you need to carry on and enjoy all that life’s got to offer 🤗

Nothing beats a family and friends love.
It’s one thing I’m deeply grateful for this year.
